How it works

Choose the amount of beef you want to order (25, 50, 100, or 200 lbs)
  • We believe in the value of a freezer full of local, home-grown beef.
  • There is a comfort in that. And a bit of added security.
  • 1/2 beef (200 lbs) costs a little less per pound than 1/4, which is a little less than 1/8... so if you want to pay 1/2 share price for 1/4 share, find a friend to split 1/2 with you!
  • 1/2 share will take up about 8-10 cubic feet of freezer space. A medium chest freezer is recommended.
  • 1/4 share will take up about 4-5 cubic feet of freezer space. A small chest freezer is recommended.
  • 1/8 share (50 lbs - 2-3 cubic feet of freezer space) and 1/16 share (25 lb Discovery Package - 1-2 cubic foot of freezer space) should both easily fit in your regular kitchen freezer, which typically holds about 7 cubic feet)
  • Frozen beef is great for at least a year. We ate some recently that had been in the bottom of our freezer for way way longer than that and it was just as good as ever.

Secure your order with a deposit (Note: the price you pay right now is only the deposit)

  • The total price of the package is listed on the product page.

Once your steer is ready to go to the USDA processor, we will email you an invoice for your balance.

  • The invoice we will email you when we are about to take your steer to the processor will not include any shipping cost.
  • If we arrange shipping, the invoice will include the cost for shipping.

If shipped, we ship your beef straight to your door frozen in insulated packaging with plenty of dry-ice

  • We prefer to use UPS for shipping and have had great success with them. We track all shipments and you will also have the tracking info for your order.
Once you receive your order, you should move it to the freezer as soon as you can.
  • You will have time, and it won't hurt if it begins to thaw. It just should be put into your freezer as soon as possible.
